There’s no better way to get through the 5 weeks until Christmas than by planning your Christmas bakes. Stir-up Sunday on the 20th November is just the excuse you were looking for to get the baking equipment out, apron on and get baking!

Some bakes will actually benefit from being made in advance- give your Christmas pudding the traditional 5 weeks to develop depth of flavour and maturity and you’ll get a flavoursome reward. You can soak your fruit in sherry before adding it to the cake too.

Our flours are suitable for a wide range of Christmas bakes, from exquisite mince pies with a delicious crust, to spelt shortbread or an elaborate gingerbread house which you can get the children to help build (and eat the trimmings!)

If savoury delights are what makes your tastebuds tingle then we have you covered too, from wholemeal spelt soda bread or walnut, goats cheese and olive soda bread to smoked salmon spelt blinis.

Most cakes and bakes benefit from a trial run to get the timing and consistency just right so clear your schedule this weekend and cheer up a gloomy November Sunday with the delicious smell of your steaming Christmas pudding and baked goods in your home.
